Laura Berg - President Laura has been in the Information Technology (IT) industry for twenty years and is currently a Director of Development for Kohl’s Department Stores. She has a B.S. and an M.B.A. from George Mason University and a Masters in Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has a strong background in management and strategic planning. Laura, her husband and two children moved to Ozaukee County in 2006. Laura became an FEC board member in 2009 and was elected as President in 2011. "I'm really excited about the opportunity I have serving on the FEC Board. I look forward to helping drive collaboration and synergies amongst the member agencies in order to help them become even more effective in their service to the residents of Ozaukee County."
Peder Berg- Vice President For the past 20 plus years, Peder has been self-employed in the field of construction and home renovation. In 2006, he moved to Ozaukee County with his wife and two children and became active in several community organizations. He has always felt a special calling to reach out to others in need of help and in 2011 joined the FEC Board as Vice President. In addition to his service for the FEC, Peder is involved in the Random Lake Athletic Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters Ozaukee County, and local church outreach programs. “The FEC provides a very unique facility for many organizations to share physical space and equipment. This in turn allows the organizations to put more of their resources to work for the people they serve. I feel my background in construction will help the Board make good decisions in caring for the facility and grounds that make up the FEC.”
Melissa Born - Secretary Melissa is a business owner and consultant for individuals with developmental disabilities, a clinical audiologist, and an Autism ABA Therapist for Easter Seals of Southeast Wisconsin. She is a UW-Madison graduate with an M.S. in Communicative Disorders and honorary B.A. in Psychology, and she has provided diagnostic, behavioral, and rehabilitative services to individuals with developmental disabilities since 1997. Melissa is passionate about supporting families in need, and has served in such capacity in hospitals, schools, clinics, research facilities, and non- and for-profit agencies. Her business development experience also includes the founding of a non-profit (peacekey.org) and charter high school (wcchschool.org). In her free time, Melissa enjoys new learning opportunities, teaching stress/pain reduction classes, and volunteering. Mrs. Born joined the board in January 2011. “It brings me great satisfaction to serve on the FEC board…an extraordinary opportunity to simultaneously support multiple agencies that give so much to their community!” David Cook – Treasurer
Geoffrey R. Nauth Geoff is principal and founder of NAUTH ADVISORY GROUP, LLC a commercial real estate industry advisory group headquartered in the Metro Milwaukee area and providing advisory services for developers, investors, and lenders in regards to financing techniques, troubled assets, and asset disposition and acquisition strategies. Prior to forming NAUTH ADVISORY GROUP, Geoff was a Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank in Milwaukee. Geoff has over 30 years experience in the commercial real estate industry. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with both a bachelors and masters degree in finance. Geoff is a member of the Wisconsin Commercial Association of Realtors, the UWM Executive Alumni Association and is a Wisconsin Licensed Real Estate Broker. Geoff resides in Mequon and is a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ where he has served as the Building Committee Chairman for both the 1992 and the 2003 Pilgrim Church renovation and building addition. He became a member of the Family Enrichment Center board of directors in 2007 and serves as the Chairmen of the Finance Committee of the Board.
Ellen Wilde Ellen and her family moved to Ozaukee County in 1983. She has been in real estate sales for over 20 years and is affiliated with Shorewest Realtors in the Mequon office. Ellen has served on both the Mequon-Thiensville School Board (1990-1996) and her current service on the Cedarburg School Board (2008-2012) is a key commitment. Past volunteer opportunities have included Advocates of Ozaukee and Interfaith Caregivers. Ellen joined the FEC board in September of 2010. “The FEC Board allows me to provide additional support to agencies whose focus is to enhance lives and opportunities in our County. I believe that a helpful and involved community is a benefit to all its residents."
Marci Hauck Marci is a Relationship Manger/Deposit Specialist at Commerce State Bank where she manages and personalizes accounts for businesses of all sizes, and organizes special events that in turn give back to non-profit charities. Mrs. Hauck is very active in her community, belonging to the Grafton, Cedarburg, Mequon-Thiensville and Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerces. She is highly active in all of their respective community events, and is driven to help strengthen the relationships between each member and their community. Marci joined the FEC board in September of 2010. “I am passionate about my work with the FEC because I enjoy working with others to support the needs of non-profits that work towards the greater good of the community.”
Brenda Peterson Brenda is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Ozaukee County (VCOC). She is also an artist involved with the Cedarburg Artist Guild, Milwaukee Art and on the Board for the Trinity Dancers. Brenda joined the FEC Board as an agency representative in 2009. “I appreciate working for the Volunteer Center; that way I can assist all community agencies to fulfill their missions... I don't have to pick one to donate my time. The VCOC feels privileged to belong to the FEC and work with other nonprofits to serving the community. “
Pam Stark Pam joined what was Mequon-Thiensville Family Services Auxiliary 20 years ago. The agency grew, becoming what is now known as Ozaukee Family Services. The agency joined other agencies to share space and dreamed of one day having their own space to house all agencies together. This is the Family Enrichment Center today. Pam is currently the President of the Auxiliary of OFS and also sits on the Board. She is also a member of the Woman's Club of Wisconsin and volunteers her time to many agencies in the City of Milwaukee. Pam joined the FEC Board as an agency representative in 2011. “I am very proud of the vision of the FEC. We are able to offer citizens of Ozaukee County many services under the same roof, not having to send them off into their cars for this service and that. "
Julie Leutenegger Julie joined the COPE Staff as the Executive Director in February of 2011, having over 26 years of non-profit management experience working for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee and Hunger Task Force. Julie joined the FEC Board as an agency representative in 2011. “My reasons to be more involved in the FEC and on the board are to help spread the word to our community about all the great resources right here in Grafton. During these though economic times, we all can use a friend. COPE is always just a phone call away, but there are other resources with in the FEC and it is important that the community knows that they are here to help them.”
Renie Rathke – Executive Director Renie became the Executive Director of the Family Enrichment Center of Ozaukee in September 2006. She has a bachelors of Science degree in Human Services and began working in family education in 1997. Renie and her husband moved to Wisconsin in 2000 and are raising five children. Renie also works as an educator at Columbia Center, birthing center in Mequon, and is active in youth leadership and women’s ministry at her church. “I feel privileged to work with all the amazing agencies located at the Family Enrichment Center. Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we have a beautiful place for nonprofit agencies to serve the needs of the community together. The FEC is a place for collaboration and good work for the community.”
